Sept 2009
Dear Diary,
This entry will cover the whole month of Sept so do bear with me if its kinda longer than usual. Mainly i'd cover the main highlights of the month instead of giving a blow by blow account of my daily life.
Right now, I'm feeling quite frustrated with one of my modules! Why? Because my other 2 groupmates have "kindly" and suddenly informed me that they dropped this module due to the girl's medical condition. And the other member is her bf. Package deal huh? Geez how IRRESPONSIBLE one can be!! Besides that, they are quitting just 3 days before the day we are supposed to have a presentation and report due! -__- Luckily my prof is understanding of the situation and allow me to hand in whatever has been done and help me find another group. Since the semester is halfway through, i do feel as if its quite unfair for another group to take me in but well, no choice!
3 Sept, Thurs
Met up with Elise, PV, MH, Tien Tien, Evonne, Miko & dennis for Final Destination 4 in 3D at 7pm. First i met with Miko and Dennis for the dinner at this taiwanese cafe. Quite affordable. We ran into Elise & PV at the Japanese bento stall but they were still eating. So i passed them their movie tickets while we continued up to 6th Floor to meet MH & her friends. However they were late so i left their tickets with the ticketer.
We took some pics in the cinema using Dennis's hp den before movie started, they all arrived. haha The movie was okay only. Quite bloody and gory! Some scenes i didn't dare to look, and i saw Miko also having same reactions. With 3D effects, it mean the scenes looked even more real!
After movie, we went to chill out at PS Mac cuz Aston too crowded. MH they all had dinner while we just had drinks. We chatted and laughed and tried to figure the new Happy Meal toy.
4 Sept, Fri
Initially it was my 1st time volunteering with Zebra crossing for their musical Victor/Victoria, however it started raining at 11am so the volunteering event was cancelled. Since my hp was under repairs and didn't have spare hp, i did go to Raffles Place but didn't see anyone familiar so i ended up going for my eyebrow threading at Browhaus.
After which, i went home to the library and borrowed some novels before going home. I went to grandma's house and borrowed my aunt's hp to use. That was when i found out the volunteer was cancelled, and that my grandma was in the hospital for puemonia. Well after that, i went home to shower before my uncle picked me up to visit grandma in TTSH. She seem quite weak and was on the oxygen mask when we visited her. I only stayed for half an hour before i left to take bus to Boon Keng.
There was a slight miscommunication with Miko and we ended up waiting at the wrong places. Esp for me since i arrived much earlier and i was quite exhausted from the full day so i sat at the bus stop outside Boon Keng MRT. In the end, we agreed to meet at Ark's Cafe, Kallang CC. I went over 1st while she waited for her friend Dennis. The Ark's Cafe wasn't opened yet when i arrived there 15 mins before 8pm. I was told by the staff that they only open at 8pm and performance may start at 8plus and they don't serve food.
So i went to the entrance of CC and waited at the bench. I called Miko to tell her about this as i was talking over the phone, i felt someone sit heavily on the bench next to me. To my utmost surprise, it was her friend Dennis!! I was laughing away as Miko was still waiting for him at the bus stop!! =x So we ended up at Mac again for dinner (cuz no other nice food thats not too far away). I had student meal of McChicken. heheh
By the time we reached Ark's Cafe, it was 9pm. There was no table in the front as we didn't reserve seats but luckily got this nice gentleman who didn't mind sharing his table with us. We listened to the 4 female singers sang several songs including English ones until 11pm. We decided to leave early cuz i needed toilet and did not want to miss the last bus. In the end, we took the last bus 13 to Geylang Lor 19 or smth and walked to Yong He House for dou jiang you tiao as supper and we also tried some taiwanese meat balls. It was 1plus am when we finished and went home.
9 Sept, Wed
Met with GR after my classes for dinner and movie. I won this free pair of tickets to watch WHATEVER WORKS. However i was sooo BLUR that i actually saw the wrong date. The free movie date was on 7 Sept not 9 Sept!!! ARGH! ANyway we had dinner at Ishi Mura in POMO. I tried the chicken teriyaki don then we chatted before walking over to PS. We walked round and round the 7th level but didn't see any booth set up. So we went to foodcourt whereby i booted up my laptop to check and realised my mistake.
I of course apologised for the fiasco and we still went to watch this comedy YEAR ONE. Very ridiculous movie but we had alot of laughs with popcorns and drinks. After that we went home.
10 Sept, Thurs
I was supposed to go for work at SMU but i felt pretty under the weather so i notified my Prof that i'd not be going in. I did visit doc for UTI and was given antibiotics on Tues. The symptoms for UTI: frequent need to urinate, burning/painful sensation during urination, and blood in urine.

I slept in and then had lunch before reading some novel to kill time. It was in the late afternoon as i was in the bed, when i felt my body temperature slowly rising. By the time it was dinnertime, i felt my lower back ache esp at the left side and felt feverish. I went back to see doc who gave me a letter to A&E and advised me to go directly to A & E as soon as possible in case of kidney infection.
Luckily my uncle was around so he drove me to TTSH where we spent almost an hour or so waiting for the doc to see me after i gave them my urine sample. After seeing doc, he asked me if i'm ok with staying in the hospital under observation and send me for ultrasound test on the next day. I agreed and my uncle accompanied me to my ward.
I was given painkilelrs and antibiotics that night while my uncle bought me some snacks as i only had porridge for dinner. The first night was bad as i couldn't sleep well and keep going to toilet. It was soo ironic that doc told me to drink more water but i ended up going to tolet more often. -_-
Anyway i went for the ultrasound at 10.30am, my uncle came at 12pm to check in on me but the doc hadn't seen me yet also. He gave me CLEO mag to read while i texted my close friends abt my situation and my classmates since i got makeup class on that day (Fri 11 Sept).
I still experienced lower back pain and both the hospital staff and my uncle wanted me to stay for another night. Ok this was even worse..-__- i dunno why but the lower back pain got worse. Haiz and i almost couldn't sleep but i guess i was too exhausted. anyway i was discharged on Sat afternoon 12 Sept and i still missed Psyc makeup class. BQ they all visited me at my grandma's house where i rested.
On sun 13 Sept, i vomitted 3 times around noon and my godma brought me to her house where she still has the medicine to stop vomit. Taking the taxi was horrible as i felt nauseous and ended up vomitting again at her place. But after i took the pill again, no more vomit. And so i rested at her house on MOn and tues too. By tues, i was gradually feeling better.

19 Sept, Sat
I had gone for a therapy yoga class on friday and felt my back pain eased alot. So on sat, i decided to resume my hip hop class. My friends were quite concerned about me going back to dance so soon. However i did feel quite alright and no adverse effects. After dance class, we except JY met up with SH & Delonn at Grand Cathay. We had dinner at Han's in Park Mall where BC joined us too. After dinner, we went to Dynasty KTV from 7.15pm - 10pm.

Even though this weekend (19-21 Sept) was long, but i spent the other 2 days at home, working on my assignments. HCM - research for assignment, PSYC -research for ppt, Capstone - Lit review for assignment. Pretty loads to finish especially since i was out of commission for 5 days.

Give Kitty a pet
SB Anniversary Chalet 28 - 30 Aug
Dear Diary,
Finally I'm here to update about SB chalet on 28 - 30 Aug at NTUC costa sands Pasir ris. Before that, i wanna share about Cousin Jackie's Bday celebration on 27/8.
27 AUg, Thurs
After working at Research Assistant's lab on Heterophily at 6pm, I took MRT to AMK to meet my godma. Although i spent the 7 hours or so reading the journal articles but i felt like i didn't really make much progress. The articles were quite long but not very useful to my paper. *Sigh*
Godma and I walked a distance towards Mac before flagging down a cab. Within minutes, we arrived at this quite popular seafood restaurant named "MELBEN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT". Its specialty is Crab Beehoon. It was very crowded despite beng a weekday. I stood there with my heavy bag and laptop for almost half an hour, waiting for our table. Meanwhile Godma has already made the orders while waiting. It was 8pm, when Jackie, his wife Jia Min & Grandma arrived. Just nice at that time we
got our table too~
We chatted as we waited for our food to come. 1st dish was pork ribs, then some tofu dish, then veggies, then the crab bee hoon, then butter crab. Finally the kaya cake was brought out and we sang Happy Birthday. The Kaya cake was surprisingly nice. =)
28 AUg, Friday
I attended a IT & Law module to try it out. It was quite interesting lecture and discussion on e-signatures. Haha Although I have no background in Law, i still could understand their discussions. However the laws i am not very certain ofcourse. After the class, i discussed with Karen whether i should continue this module for my T & E requirement (I really hate that they offer such advanced modules for students who are not taking Law/Accountancy/IS). In the end, i decided to drop it and bid for IT & Business Innovations instead. This law module is too heavy for me to juggle 3 other modules and my Research work.
At 4.30pm, i met with Julian who has kindly offered to give me a ride back home to get my stuffs, drive me to the chalet, and help to buy some snacks for the people coming later. After checking in the chalet and putting our stuffs down, i checked out the chalet. Even though it was a duplex (2 storey), it was quite small compared to Aloha chalet. There was no proper kitchen, only 1 bathroom and bedroom. There wasn't even any sofa. haha Next, we went to Downtown East and had dinner at the foodcourt. I had chicken teriyaki don. Then we went to shop for snacks at NTUC before meeting with Larry at Fish & CO Express. We chatted while wendy and icetrap both told me that they would only reach late at night.
Returning to chalet with our snacks and drinks, we played card games and chatted as we waited for the rest to come. At about 10.30pm, Wendy arrived and we chatted while waiting for elise and PV to return from Taiwan. Julian drove us out to Changi Village for supper (dim sum) and met with Elise & PV there. They brought alot of stuffs back man! *ENVY* haha We had a 'feast' - durian springrolls quite special. haha Icetrap (Nick) also joined us around 12am. We observed the TRANS as we ate and chatted. After supper, we drove around, taking a look at the trans. LOL Some of them looked quite hot though! hahaha
Back at chalet, Nick brought Saboteur card game and a board game. He taught all of us to play Saboteur and we played till 3am. Haha When Nick and Julian left, it was shower time and bed time.
29 AUg, Saturday
Woke at 9am - super cold air con! haha Washed up and changed while waiting for PV and Elise to get ready. Haha Julian met with us and drove us to downtown east. We went to have breakfast at Mac. I had my Hotcakes! At 10+am, Rae & Jo joined us for breakfast too. After which, we went to Escape theme park. With the a pair of complimentary tickets, each of us just need to pay $5! Since it was quite early, we managed to skip the queues! We went to Haunted Mansion 1st (with RAe screaming and my laughing) -it was such a noisy trip. Then we went to play some super man ride, Pirates ship (it was awesome! we rode it like 3 times back-back! SOmehow i felt that it was pushing higher~ Poor Rae was so scared =x), played the Wet Boat ride. Jo boldly took the ride by herself, while Rae and I took the next ride together. I wasn't that wet but Rae was pretty wet.
We then went to play other rides like train before taking a break at the BK. Then we went to take this Space ship kind of ride and we took it at least 3 times, letting our clothes and skin bake under the hot noon sun! After which, we braved the wet shooting boat ride. And it was time for me to go for my dance class. SOmemore I had to go home 1st to get my laptop. haha In the end i was late for my 1st dance class but so were my friends.
After dance, BQ, MH and i took mrt together while JY went off. BQ had to accompany her mom 1st so MH went with me to Whites Sands to get the cake. We bought some snacks den walked over to chalet. By the time we arrived some of the people were there le. While the guys set up the BBQ pit, MH, Affinity, Dolp and I played daidee while watching MJ. We also snacked on the BBQ food here n there. YP and WJ also dropped by to see me. Finally at about 9pm when most people have arrived, we all walked over to Downtown East to attend Jasmine's 21st bday celebration. MH also went back since BQ didn't join.
Next we took some pics with her before going back to chalet and had our own bday celebration for the other Aug babies. After eating the cake, we played some group games and eventually Truth or Dare. It didn't end well cuz most of the people kena didn't want to do the dares or answer. LOL At 12am, they suggested going to Downtown east for L4D or bowling or movie. We walked over to downtown east for the 4th time that day. However there isn't Lan shop in Downtown east, and the movies were not that appealing so we ended up playing bowling. Nick, Mr_J and Ces are not bad at bbowling wor. I super long time never play bowling liao and was quite surprised that i managed to have a couple of strikes!! Wahahha Miko also had a few strikes! Weee~~
We played till 2+am then we walked back to chalet. Some of them left while some of them remained to chat. I was quite sleepy so after shower, i went to sleep.
30 AUg, Sunday
Woke up at abt 9am, it was raining so heavily so we waited for the rain to lessen while watching TV show and chatting. haha Finally at 11am, the rain kinda become smaller so we quickly walked over to the lobby and checked out. The shuttle bus arrived at 11.30am and we took it to White Sands. We had brunch at Xin Wang Cafe. Then i took mrt with Miko to Paya Lebar.

Then we went to take this Space ship kind of ride and we took it at least 3 times, letting our clothes and skin bake under the hot noon sun! After which, we braved the wet shooting boat ride. And it was time for me to go for my dance class. SOmemore I had to go home 1st to get my laptop. haha In the end i was late for my 1st dance class but so were my friends.
After dance, BQ, MH and i took mrt together while JY went off. BQ had to accompany her mom 1st so MH went with me to Whites Sands to get the cake. We bought some snacks den walked over to chalet. By the time we arrived some of the people were there le. While the guys set up the BBQ pit, MH, Affinity, Dolp and I played daidee while watching MJ. We also snacked on the BBQ food here n there. YP and WJ also dropped by to see me. Finally at about 9pm when most people have arrived, we all walked over to Downtown East to attend Jasmine's 21st bday celebration. MH also went back since BQ didn't join.
Next we took some pics with her before going back to chalet and had our own bday celebration for the other Aug babies. After eating the cake, we played some group games and eventually Truth or Dare. It didn't end well cuz most of the people kena didn't want to do the dares or answer. LOL At 12am, they suggested going to Downtown east for L4D or bowling or movie. We walked over to downtown east for the 4th time that day. However there isn't Lan shop in Downtown east, and the movies were not that appealing so we ended up playing bowling. Nick, Mr_J and Ces are not bad at bbowling wor. I super long time never play bowling liao and was quite surprised that i managed to have a couple of strikes!! Wahahha Miko also had a few strikes! Weee~~
We played till 2+am then we walked back to chalet. Some of them left while some of them remained to chat. I was quite sleepy so after shower, i went to sleep.
30 AUg, Sunday
Woke up at abt 9am, it was raining so heavily so we waited for the rain to lessen while watching TV show and chatting. haha Finally at 11am, the rain kinda become smaller so we quickly walked over to the lobby and checked out. The shuttle bus arrived at 11.30am and we took it to White Sands. We had brunch at Xin Wang Cafe. Then i took mrt with Miko to Paya Lebar.

Overdue Late Aug Entry
Dear Diary,
I know this is long overdue!! Lady here is having a BUSY time with school starting and etc. Anyway its not quick to update blog and post pics. Unlike past times whereby i'd miss blogging and writing about my thoughts, nowadays i don't even have time to do my own stuffs. Haiz I wonder where did my time go to?
Well I will just have a short recount of events following my Batam Trip till just before Sodabeta Anniversary Party. I'm blogging my Aug life in spurts. For quick posting, I have compiled the photos of each event in one pic (scrapbook style kind except I made these from scratch instead of going to scrapblog & wait for it to load).
20th Aug (Thurs)
Met up earlier with Rae to do some shopping at Spotlight before meeting with simplepris at Pizza Hut. Made a booking but still had to wait for vacant table so we went shopping at Made With Love. Elise still hadn't reached so we also waited for her. At 7.30pm or so, the pizza hut called me and we made our way down to get table for 4. We chatted as we waited for Elise to arrive before ordering. We shared garlic bread, drumlets, hawaiian pizza and shrooms pizza as shown in the pic above. Pizza Hut was closing when we left.
22nd Aug (Sat)
I finally got my bike so i cycled to Parkway to meet with Miko & MH. We went to buy some breads (lunch) before walking over to Teo Heng KTV at Katong Shopping Centre. Got lost alittle in Roxy Square trying to find the other exit. Haha. By the time we reached KTV, it was abt 2pm. BQ & BC both late so we started singing. The KTV very orangey but our room was quite spacious. haha The only thing i don't really like is the window so huge that outsiders can easily look in. HAHA BC was quite mad at BQ when they arrived cuz BQ made her wait for quite a long time. She was so mad that she didn't want/seem 'bu neng fan" to sing with her/talk to her during KTV. ANyway we sang quite a few songs till 7pm.
Wanted to play tennis but Kallang Tennis centre was booked for tournament so instead we walked through the row of shophouses with food stalls giving off tempting aroma, such as Katong Laksa, Curry chicken, etc. BC left right after KTV as she didn't want to go home too late. There's also Aston's Specialities there and a few restaurants. After walking the whole row and still not deciding, we crossed the road and went to Katong Village. We checked it out alittle - besides the Old Hong Kong Cafe, it also has WARAKU and BRAZILIAN Restaurant.
We decided to have dinner at Old Hong Kong Cafe which opens for 24hr and actually they had dinner while I just watched them eat as i supposed to have dinner at home with my family. At about 8pm, i left and cycled home.
23rd Aug (Sun)
I met up with BL - actually intended to go cycling at ECP but it was dark and gloomy. So instead we met at my house. We chatted, watched videos on youtube about funny animals and played online cutesy games such as Penguin Waitress. LOL For dinner, we wanted to check out Aston's Prime along East Coast Rd but when we went there, it was already closed down so now only left with Aston's Specialities over there. I think Aston's got a higher class outlet but its in Orchard i think. In the end, since BL hadn't tried Japanese main course in restaurant, i brought her to WARAKU at Katong Village. It was quite hectic and crowded but luckily we didn't wait for too long to get a table.
BL had this ramen noodle which actually came with a small bowl of beef udon while i ordered tofu salad, bacon wrapped with mushrooms grill, and unagi maki to share. When BL's food arrived, we were quite surprised at the sizes. LOL She couldn't finish the udon so asked me to help her eat. Although i only ordered 3 ala carte items, i only had a few bites of her udon and noodles which already made me very full.
After dinner, we crossed over to Katong Mall and there was a small bazaar. We browsed the items on sale and i bought a soft cotton white top with flowery designs for only $5! Anyway we went home after this.
